2024 Community Camping
at Rock Hill Girl Scout Camp, Mahopac, NY
Monday night bonfire, November 4th
· 6:30pm-8:00pm: K-3rd grade
· 8:00pm-9:30pm: 4th grade and older.
· Singing around the campfire, then head inside for s’mores and hot chocolate.
· The Bonfire night is family friendly and fun for all. Bring your parents, bring your siblings.
$8 per person
Troops – there is the option to sleep over in the cabins after the bonfire. Adults may sleep over, too, but they must be registered as a Girl Scout and have a background check through GSHH. At least one leader must have their Indoor Sleep over training.

7:45am – 4:00pm
(These times may change slightly.) Includes breakfast and lunch.
This year’s community camping day is art-themed, and the special patch theme is Juliette Jones and the Quest for the Lost Pearls! It is sure to be lots of fun!
If you have a girl or a troop that needs leadership hours for their Silver or Gold Award and they would like to show off their project at Community Camping, please let Maureen know as soon as possible.

Town of Cortlandt Veteran’s Day Ceremony
Veteran’s Day, November 11. 2024
Muriel Murabito Community Center on Westbrook Drive, Cortlandt Manor.
Arrive by 10:45am. Ceremony is approximately 11:00pm-12:30pm. (These times subject to change once we have more details.)
The Veteran’s LOVE seeing the Girl Scouts of all ages in their uniforms, standing with the Veterans of all military branches, saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing a patriotic song. It isn’t the most ‘fun’ event, but please encourage your daughter or troop to attend to show their respect and represent the Girl Scouts – the Veterans really appreciate it.

Typiocally a Saturday morning event, earlt December. This is a great troop or family event. Usually 9:30am-noon.
Wreath Laying at Veteran’s headstones at Hillside and Assumption Cemeteries with the American Legion.
