Portfolios have been decorated, artwork has been passed back. That's a wrap on the year! Good luck in your next adventure 8th graders....you will be missed on our K-8 campus!
We are wrapping up the year, creating portfolios and getting ready for all work to go home

Logo Design Project
Students will be starting a new project- Logo Design. Students will dream up an original concept for their company, what sets those items apart from the current market and then create a logo that will shape their brand. Each student is in the brainstorming phase- dreaming up ideas that may not be possible now but could be in the future!

Color in a Shape project
Students are brainstorming subjects for their final project. They also need to decide what shape and where they will be placing it in their artwork.
It was an art game and quick sketches kind of week.....
Origami Week!
Students created Spring themed origami projects.
Students spent the week creating feathers for an all school collaboration art project....stay tuned for the big reveal in a few weeks
Kehinde Wiley- Artist Study
Students learned about his contemporary portraits and photorealism. Next week we will be working on an all school collaboration project!
Cubes are complete!
Op Art
Students are creating optical illusions on a 3D cube. Next week students will finish up their illusions in sharpie then cut/glue to assemble the cube.
Final Drafts are underway...
Wayne Thiebaud Projects
Each student is choosing a dessert or treat of their choice. Practice sketches will be created this week.
Winter Scene
Finished Projects
Students are creating a mountain scene- experimenting with shading techniques such as hatching and crosshatching. They will use sharpie and then create a watercolor sky inspired by the Northern Lights. But first...practice sketches.

Everest the Explorer- Art Project
Time to add some color!
Now that we have practiced drawing Everest, we are going to add a little twist to the project.....
What would Everest look like if he were created by Keith Haring?
