Art 2

Art 2 is an intermediate level art course that is designed for students who wish to develop their technical skills and creative ideas and expand on what they have learned in previous art classes. Students in this class will have the opportunity to experience studio practices in a variety of media and techniques, with an emphasis on drawing and painting. Projects will explore many different themes and will require you to both make art as well as respond to art in writing or discussion.  

In addition to more in-depth projects, students will also keep a daily sketchbook, which will be used to create smaller assignments, skill-building, planning, research, and for developing a personal style. This class will challenge you to be more independent and self-motivated in your art-making and will encourage individuality and self-expression. The skills learned in this class will strengthen your ability as a visual communicator and help you to build your portfolio.
