Art 1

Art 1 is a beginning art course that emphasizes studio practices in a variety of media and techniques. Students will learn and apply skills in drawing, painting, mixed-media, and some 3D processes. They will learn how to look at and analyze works of art from various styles and time periods while also learning to be reflective about their own work. Individual expression will be encouraged, as will problem-solving skills and exploration!

In addition to more in-depth projects, students will also use a sketchbook for smaller assignments, skill-building, planning, and for developing a personal style.

Art 1 is a prerequisite for Art 2
