Sofia Romano:
My learning goal was to learn how to use wood carving tools to create shapes and certain effects such as applying texture, creating intricate detail, and professionally using blending techniques. I wanted to learn how to use a variety of wood carving tools as well as electric ones. In addition, I wanted to further my understanding of my Chinese heritage/culture by researching and learning more about the history behind the artifacts.
My product goal was a unique, to-scale model of a historical Chinese pillow that is made out of hand-crafted wood instead of ceramic. The details and design of the pillow incorporated a variety of shapes and textures inspired by Chinese art and culture.
My final product is a hand-carved, wooden Chinese historical pillow with a variety of textures and colors, engravings of meaningful Chinese characters, and culturally-symbolic flower designs. It is stained with colors to create a cohesive and visually-appealing art piece.

The Hammer Times is a platform that includes up to date and accurate information, such as schedules, rosters, and news, about the sports teams at Westlake Academy.
Joshua Quint wanted to learn the importance and impact of nutrition on body functions and performance. He created a nutritional blog that goes into depth about vitamins, macronutrients like carbohydrates fats and proteins, and the overall science behind healthy eating.

Hello, my name is Hannah Nguyen, and I explored chainmail through my personal project. My learning goal aimed to achieve beginner proficiency in the art of chain and scale mailing. Through lots of research and determination, my product goal was to create a double chainmail pauldron that utilized the skills I had acquired previously.
My product matches my goal, as it is a double scale and chainmail pauldron fitted with aluminum and steel. A pauldron essential means shoulder armor connecting at the neck, commonly worn with other pieces. I demonstrated my learned skills of the European 4-1 style throughout.
