In this Module, you will learn about a variety of digital assessment tools and strategies that support critical thinking among your students.

Recommended time allotment

  • 4 hours total
      • 1 hour for Flipgrid

      • Optional: 1 hour to explore other tools on the Assessment Tools Cheat Sheet

Open the links below to learn how to use selected instructional tools that assess student learning and metacognition.

For each of the above tools, you will be expected to learn how the tool works, create and share an exemplar that you can use as a model for your stakeholders, evaluate the efficacy of the tool, and discuss your thoughts on how you might use the tool with students or colleagues. You will be prompted to share your artifacts and thoughts on Google Classroom.

Extend

Explore at least three other tools on the Assessment Tools Cheat Sheet and evaluate their potential for assessing student thinking.

Think of ways to transform a lesson that integrates at least one of the tools you learned about in this module in a way that challenges students to think critically.
