The WGMB Performed in the 2023 London New Year's Day Parade!

What a journey!! We are all back home now - thank you to everyone who made our trip a success!!

Our West Geauga community should be proud of how the band students represented our school and area of the state. We received numerous compliments on their behavior, manners, and their outstanding musical performance!!

We truly value the support of our band families, especially our trip chaperones, who received a few curveballs in our travels home. We hope everyone finds time to rest and recover now that the airport adventures are over!!

Starting in the London city streets, Parliament Square, Covent Garden, Oxford, Windsor, the Tower of London, the Thames River, a rockin NYE party, a concert performance in Cadogan Hall, and culminating with the London New Years’s Day Parade…this was a trip with memories to last a lifetime!!!

We hope that our amazing students had a great experience, and we are so glad that everyone is home safe now!!

OLD POST - This was our 'announcement' when we found out that we were invited a couple of years ago. This was so exciting, and a huge honor for the band and all of the students/families involved!

After thorough review (and a one year delay!!), The Selection Committee for the London New Year's Day Parade has selected the WGMB to be one of the few American marching bands to perform in the 2023 parade! This is a unique honor, and a once in a lifetime opportunity for all involved!

This trip is open to WGHS Marching Band/Drumline/Wolverette students in the 2022-2023 school year. Registration and payments begin in October 2021. Information can be found here on this page and in the 2022 WGMB London Trip Google Classroom.

The trip will take place from December 27th, 2022 to January 3rd, 2023. 

Mr. Branch and Mrs. DeSapri will have a Zoom meeting to talk through the trip information, itinerary, payment schedule, and field any parent questions on Tuesday September 21st at 7pm. Attendance is not mandatory, and parents are welcome to email questions regarding the London Trip if they can't make it on Tuesday via Zoom.
