Steel Band

The WGHS Steel Band is an extracurricular ensemble comprised of two groups - The morning Steel Band meets every Tuesday morning from 6:30am-7:15am, and performs at the WGHS Winter and Spring Concerts, as well as a yearly benefit concert with the WGHS Interact Club. The afternoon Steel Band meets every Tuesday afternoon from 2:45pm-3:30pm, and is a great opportunity for any student to learn how to play the steel pan and get an introduction to the ensemble.

Steel Band is open to any student, and is not limited to percussionists or current band students. Students with experience in steel band are encouraged to join the morning performance group. Students with no experience start out in the afternoon group to learn the instrument before joining the morning performance group.
