High School

The Westfield High School Science and Technology Curriculum is crafted to build upon students' foundational knowledge and experiences from grades K - 8, offering them specialized subject-specific learning opportunities to further their development while preparing them for college and career.

As students progress through grades 9 - 12, they are presented with diverse science opportunities in four distinct areas: Earth and Space Science, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Additionally, our technology education courses provide students with the chance to critically engage in problem-solving and design solutions in both virtual and real-world environments.

For specific information on the multiple pathways and graduation requirements available to students, please refer to the WHS Program of Studies. Below, you will also find detailed descriptions of the Science and Technology Education offerings at WHS, along with curriculum documents for each course.  All courses are developed using the New Jersey Student Learning Standards for Science and Design Thinking, which are based on the Next Generation Science Standards.
