Dear 5V families,
The following are suggested supplies for use in our fifth grade classroom. You are not required to purchase them and financial assistance is available if needed. The supplies on the list will be divided between home and our 5V classroom, as noted below. Items marked with an * are consumable and will likely need to be replenished during the school year.
Items to bring to school (these will remain inside your desk and will only be handled by you):
1 pair of lightweight headphones for computer use (labeled in a zip lock bag)
1 three-ring binder w/metal rings (1.5" -or 2" size)
Tab subject dividers (for 8 subjects) for 3-ring binder (I will send directions so that this can easily be done at home.)
1 package of 3-hole notebook paper (wide ruled)*
3-ring binder zippered pencil pouch
1 individual three-hole puncher that can clip into binder
5 sturdy twin-pocket folders
1 single-subject spiral notebook
1 marble-bound composition notebook
1 package of sharpened #2 pencils with extra erasers*
1 personal pencil sharpener
2 blue or black ballpoint pens (no felt tip, please)*
1 red ballpoint pen*
1 box of sharpened colored pencils (box of 12 is sufficient)
2 boxes of markers (thick and thin tips, simple 8 color box)
1 fine point black Sharpie marker
1 ultra-fine point black Sharpie marker
1 pair of sharp, durable scissors
2-4 dry-erase markers
2 glue sticks*
3 Highlighters (one green, one yellow and one color of your choice)
Box of 24 crayons
2 or more pads of sticky notes, 3” x 3” preferable*
One bottle of White Out Correction Fluid
1 clean, old sock to use for dry-erasing
Items to gather and keep at home (stock and prepare your home study area):
Pencils
Blue or black pens
2 Highlighters - 2 different colors
2 packages of notebook paper (all classwork and homework must be completed on lined paper unless noted otherwise)
Sticky note pads
Ruler- standard and metric
Calculator
Clear plastic protractor
Index cards, 3"x5", white, ruled
Glue, tape, stapler, scissors
White-out
Markers, crayons, colored pencils
Donations of the following will be used by the entire class throughout the year and would be greatly appreciated:
large box of tissues
tub of antibacterial wipes for desktops
tub of wipes for hands
antibacterial spray cleaner
roll of paper towels
Reminders:
Materials do not need to be brought into school on the first day, but are required by September 8.
You DO need to bring your Chromebook on the first day. You will carry this to and from school each day without exception. Please clearly label your charger with your name.
You are welcome to bring a small, "working" snack to school as well as a spill-proof water bottle each day.
You will receive directions on how to assemble your binder as part of your homework on Monday, September 8.
Please bring your supplies to school by Monday, September 8th.
