Dear 5V Parents,
I hope this finds you enjoying the last bit of summer and looking forward to the new school year. I am so excited to see your children on the first day and can't wait to get to know each one of them.
Fifth grade is an extraordinary year in a child's elementary education. It is my mission to make this year "extra-extraordinary" for your children-- in every valuable and meaningful way possible for their final year at Wilson.
With that pledge, I would like to welcome you and your child to fifth grade and class 5V. I am delighted to have the opportunity to meet new families and am equally pleased to reacquaint myself with the families I have had in previous years. I am looking forward to a productive, exciting, and most extraordinary year.
The first day of school is Thursday, September 4. Fifth grade students line up on the blacktop behind the building. Please be sure your child reads the student welcome letter as it contains additional details regarding supplies, the first day, and me. Please click on this link for the 5V Supply List, which can also be found on the 5V Class Webpage. You will find a list of recommended school supplies and materials that your child will need for fifth grade. I ask that your child have her / his supplies by Monday, September 8. These items will be used throughout the school year and will be brought home at the end of the year. Please note that many of the items are consumable (pencils, glue sticks…) and will need to be replaced as needed.
This year will offer challenges and exciting opportunities for growth. I look forward to meeting challenges and celebrating successes together as partners. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me at cventurino@westfieldnjk12.org.
Thank you in advance for your contributions and cooperation. Together, I know we will create a school year filled with wonder and learning.
Most sincerely,
Coral Venturino
