The 6th grade component of the curriculum for Technology Literacy provides project based opportunities for students to enhance and apply the Technology Literacy skills acquired in grades 3 through 5. In this course each student assumes the role of a computer game designer and gaming company. Students will research popular computer games, select a type of computer game to investigate further and design their own game demo. Students will code their game in SCRATCH. Students are exposed to various technology tools as their game design evolves. Students will experience GAFE applications, Adobe Photoshop for business logo designs and business advertisements, digital voice recording tools, coding concepts (SCRATCH & Code.org), spreadsheets (Google Sheets/MS Excel) and Internet research will be acquired and employed through activities and projects in which the students create real world deliverables for their proposed computer game businesses.
