All members of the Western Christian FFA Chapter will be an active member of at least one committee per year.
Committees has been a huge working point for our chapter. There are a lot of different activities that our chapter accomplishes within the year and it is important that we have students ready and avabile to help with them. Being on a committee is also a good learning opportunity for the members. It teaches them how to work on a team, gives leadership opportunities to nonofficers, and students can see fist hand the fruitfulness of their labor.
All members of the Freshman class will establish an SAE and properly record it on AET.
This year we want to make sure that students proper ally understand how to run AET and to establish a quality SAE. This has been an area that needed improvement in the past. If we start with the Freshman class, they can properly understand it and then teach the future students as well!
We will grow and sell over 800 plants in the greenhouse, with under a 15% death rate.
We have recently added a greenhouse to our school grounds. With this addition, comes the learning of properly running the greenhouse. In the past years we have had high death rates. This year we bought over 800 plugs and our goal is to grow them with a low death rate. We will sell them at the end of the year during spring plant sales.
