In this section, provide your portfolio reader with some information about how to navigate your portfolio. Below, you can see an example of what you could write. Feel free to copy and paste the example, or be creative and put it in your own voice. Or, if you want to show off your video skills, make and upload a short video with the same information. Be sure to delete the instructions and examples when you work on your portfolio.
Example: Hello, my name is John Smith. Welcome to my digital portfolio. In my portfolio, I will show you my academic and personal journey as I traveled through Westbrook High School. At the top of the page, you will find tabs for Home, Grade 9 Artifacts, Grade 10 Artifacts, Grade 11 Artifacts, Grade 12 Artifacts, and Senior Project. When you click on Home, you can see two subpages where you can find information about the Westbrook Public Schools Portrait of a Graduate and how this portfolio fits into the Portrait. Finally, you will see a This is Me subpage where you can find a little more about my hobbies, passions, and plans for the future. On each of the grade level Artifacts pages, you can take a look at the projects assigned to me by my teachers as well as a Portrait of a Graduate scoring rubric. You will be able to see how I am doing as I work toward the Westbrook Portrait of a Graduate. In addition to information about my projects, you may also have an opportunity to take a look at my reflection after working on the project. I have described the project for you, including the skills and knowledge I learned, what I have learned from receiving feedback on my work, and how the projects connect to my future college and career plans. I hope you enjoy learning more about me, my passions, my future goals, and my commitment to learning during high school.
