The Connecticut Music Educators Association, or CMEA, holds auditions for the Southern Region Music Festival each year in November.

Students prepare a prescribed solo and perform it in front of a judge for a score and helpful feedback.

Based on these scores, students are selected to participate in the Southern Region Music Festival Chorus, Band, Jazz Band, or Orchestra.

This year's Regional Auditions will take place on

Saturday, November 17th, 2018 at Guilford High School

Audition fee is $20 and is due by Oct. 10.

Audition repertoire, info, and resources will be made available on Concert Band/Choir Google Classroom pages.

For selected students, the Regional Festival will take place on

Friday and Saturday, January 18-19, 2019 at Platt High School in Meriden.

Festival Registration fee is $25 and is due by Dec 1.

All State Auditions (eligible to those who make regionals) will take place on

Saturday, February 2, 2019 (snow date Feb. 9) at North Haven High School.

Audition fee is $25 and is due by Dec. 21.

The All State Festival will take place

April 11-13 at the Connecticut Convention Center.

Cost is TBD (usually in the mid $300 range - includes hotel and meals) and will be due Mar. 1.
