Hey Students! This English 10 unit is all about exploring how cultural perspectives influence common experiences between classes, cultures, generations, and relationships. In order to coexist, we must recognize each other's similarities and embrace our differences. In this unit, you will be building and improving on the following skills:

Write informative/explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas and information clearly and accurately through the effective selection, organization, and analysis of content

• 4.2 Writing Informational Texts: Develop the subtopic with facts.
• 4.6 Writing Informational Texts: Strengthen writing through revision

Frame and advance an inquiry to investigate topics, build knowledge, and analyze and integrate information.

• 8.1 Conducting Research: Construct a research question

What your success looks like:

• I can develop the topic thoroughly by selecting the most significant and relevant facts, extended definitions, concrete details, quotations, or other information and examples appropriate to the audience’s knowledge of the topic.
• I can define a compelling, knowledgeable, and focused research question that reflects an enduring issue in the field and that requires challenging and/or provocative research.
• I can develop and strengthen writing as needed by planning, revising, editing, rewriting, or trying a new approach, focusing on addressing what is most significant for a specific purpose and audience.
