“Many human diseases, including cancers, arise because of malfunctioning genetic switches," says André Hoelz.(Genetic Switches) Since our bodies use a complex series of genetic switches to differentiate a stem cell into many different cell types.

What You Will DO:

Your task is to research a disease that originates within an organisms cell and compare it to a normal healthy cell using a model. In this performance task you will need to address the differences at the molecular, cellular, and organism level. You may use notes, information from class, the internet (trusted sources), or come and see me if you need help finding research or clarification on this performance task.
