A Message from WellStyles Registered Dietician, Kristen DeCosta:
Hey all,
Please check out the Fuel Workshop for a broader scope of nutritional education. I have also listed some of my favorite podcasts and books below to guide you on your path to nutritional wellness.
Please do not be discouraged by reference to ‘paleo’ in many of the resources. As I mentioned in the workshop, the paleo approach is very misunderstood . I love the way Dr. Sarah Ballantyne describes it as
“a nutrient-dense whole foods diet based on eating a variety of quality meat, seafood, eggs, vegetables, fruits, nuts, seeds, herbs, spices and healthy fats. It improves health by providing balanced and complete nutrition while avoiding most processed and refined foods and empty calories.”
However, whether you follow a paleo approach, a vegetarian or vegan approach, a ketogenic approach, or none at all, there is a breadth of wonderful, well-researched information in all of these resources that supersedes any focus on a specific diet! So dive in and enjoy :)
