NOMINATING PROCEDURES
The library media specialist and/or classroom teacher solicit nominations from their students. Nominated titles are sent to the Golden Archer Committee via the online Nomination Ballot.
Each participating school may nominate a maximum of five (5) books for each category (primary, intermediate, middle, senior) that is represented in that school. All nominated titles should have a copyright year within the last five (5) years.
All nominations should include the number of students nominating each title.
Ideas on how to have kids nominate for titles:
Use your circulation system to determine the top circulated books and find the top books that have a copyright date of 5 years ago or less. Use that list to have your students vote from.
Use a ballot box.
Do a simple survey by the raising of hands.
Do a survey by posting the pictures of the books and having the students put stickers/tallies/etc., under their favorite.
Run a book tournament.
