Primary Level

• Books you would recommended for students in early elementary grades, generally picture books.

• Typically voted on by Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders; however, it can be flexible and set by the person running the program at each site.  

  • Votes are due by March 1st each year.

• Nominations should be made by students who would read picture books.

  • Nominations are due by May 1st each year.

  • Books recognized as noteworthy and of special interest to students. Books now in print and readily available, published within the last 5 years. Fiction or nonfiction. Individual book titles, not series names.

• One option to collect votes from students is to use a Google form.  Here is a link to one that has been created to collect primary votes from students.  You may make a copy of it and use it if you would like to.  Google primary votes
