Daily Routines

The School Day

School starts at 8.30 am and finishes at 3.15 pm. 

Arriving at school

Children enter school through the gates and come straight to the Year 1 classroom where one of the adults will be out to greet you.

8:45 - 9:00 - Gross and Fine Motor Activities

We begin our day with some gross and fine motor activites which help strengthen muscles around the wrist and arms. This aids the children when they become writers as it gives them more control.

9:00 - 9:45 - Phonics

9:45- 10:20 - Writing

10:20 - 10:40 - Assembly or Reading

10:40 - 10:55 - Break

Daily Snack - snacks are provided by school, at a morning break time. 

11:00 - 12:00 - Maths

1:00 - 3:15 - Afternoon learning, including break and a snack

Children are welcome to bring a healthy snack for afternoon break time. These are fruit or vegetables. As we are a nut free school please do not send in snacks with nuts. 

Home time - 3.15

Children will be collected from directly outside the Year 1 classroom.
