Chess has always been a game that challenges me to think critically and strategically, so competing in an open tournament was an exciting yet daunting experience. Facing skilled opponents pushed me to analyze positions deeply and adapt my strategies under pressure. Some matches were especially intense, testing my patience and ability to stay calm.
One of the biggest challenges was managing my nerves, especially when playing against more experienced competitors. There were moments when I doubted my moves, but I reminded myself to trust my instincts and the strategies I had practiced. Staying focused for long matches also required mental endurance.
Winning Best Female in the open category was a proud moment for me, not just because of the title but because it reflected my perseverance and growth. Through this experience, I improved my decision-making skills, resilience, and ability to think ahead—all of which will help me in future competitions.

During our ESS field trip to Moe Ywin Gyi Inn, we conducted a quadrat study to analyze biodiversity. The activity required us to systematically place quadrats in different areas and record plant species, density, and abiotic factors. While it seemed simple, challenges quickly arose. Measuring and identifying species demanded precision, and working under the hot sun made it physically exhausting. Some areas had uneven terrain, making it difficult to place the quadrat properly, and unexpected environmental factors, like wind and shifting soil, affected our data collection.
One of the biggest challenges was staying organized. With multiple data points to collect, I had to ensure every measurement was accurate while working efficiently with my team. Despite the difficulties, I stayed committed, adapting to the conditions and refining my fieldwork skills.
Through this experience, I developed teamwork, problem-solving, and data collection skills. It reinforced my appreciation for hands-on environmental research and the importance of perseverance in field studies.
For my CAS activity, I committed to improving my swimming skills over a week. Although I knew the basics, I struggled with endurance and technique, especially with breathing control and maintaining a steady stroke. The first few days were tough—swimming continuous laps left me exhausted, and I often lost my rhythm. However, instead of getting discouraged, I focused on small improvements each day.
One of the biggest challenges was mastering proper breathing techniques. At first, I would panic and break my form, but with practice, I learned to pace my breaths and stay relaxed in the water. I also worked on refining my strokes and increasing my stamina by gradually extending my practice sessions.
By the end of the week, I noticed significant progress. My strokes became smoother, and I felt more confident in the water. This experience taught me perseverance, discipline, and the importance of consistent practice in skill development.

For my CAS activity, I participated in multiple events during my school’s Sports Day, including chess, badminton, pickleball, and swimming. Balancing four different sports was a challenge, as each required different skills, strategies, and endurance. Switching between mentally intense games like chess and physically demanding ones like swimming and badminton tested both my focus and stamina.
One of the biggest challenges was managing fatigue. Playing back-to-back matches meant I had to pace myself while staying competitive. In badminton and pickleball, I struggled with footwork and reaction speed, but with each game, I adapted and improved. Swimming pushed my endurance, especially after long matches in other sports.
Despite the challenges, I stayed committed and gave my best effort in each event. This experience helped me develop time management, adaptability, and resilience. Competing in multiple sports pushed me beyond my comfort zone, making Sports Day both exhausting and incredibly rewarding.
