THE FACTORY STUDIO & arthouse (November 2017-May 2018)

This year I joined a class outside of school that is an art workshop. The Factory studio, this placed is located in Bangkok and was named by Andy Warhol's studio. This place was made by art college students in Thailand to help and create new generations of artist, it is considered as top best art school in Thailand. I joined their portfolio workshop course where they teach me how to make a good portfolio that art colleges wanted to see. I joined because I want to add on and improve my art portfolio so it can be send to art college to earn scholarships from abroad.

Recently I have 4 works some in progress and some is done:

Investigation

I've always been doing art, drawing, painting, crafting and etc. as my main hobby since I was little. Recently, I've been making most of my artwork on my own without much guidance and techniques from professional artist and I needed to build an art portfolio to get ready for an art college. I decided to join the factory art-portfolio course to add on what I already have and improve my art techniques to the next level.

Preparation

From the very first day, I started brainstorming ideas I already have and show some works that I've done to art teachers. Then, we had a discussion on which work I have that is qualified enough to be added in my art-portfolio and what I should work on. The next week, I came back with art projects that I'm planning to make. I create the mood board which is a draft just to get the main idea and theme of the artwork I'm trying to create.

Action

I started my work depending on what kind of art style im trying to make such as working on my graphic design poster on Adobe Illustrator or cutting and paste paper with a proper composition for a collage work.

Reflection

From this experience, I've learned how to use design programs like Adobe Illustrator and learned how to do professional graphic designs. It has also told me that criticism can be a good thing, so you can improve your own work and make it better.

Here's all of my work in progress and the finished work. When the course ends at May 20th thats when I have to present all the art projects I created at The Factory Studio and took the video of it.

DIS Company (Job as a Helpdesk trainee):

March 2018- Continuing

I started a job at my dad's company as a helpdesk trainee with Kenny. I chose to do this to be able to gain my first real life job and working experience. The reason my friend Kenny wanted to join is because he wanted to work in a computer company as a programmer. We decided to start a collaboration to work together.

The job for me and Kenny as a beginner is to learn how to use the Sysaid software and when there's an error or troubleshooting from the software products that we were selling from the United Nation building . At that moment we have to decide which message should be send to our boss (my dad) or the programmer (my mother) or the intern. We are basically an assistant in the company. I got paid around 100-200 baht everytime the case is solved or when I send the case to the right person. I also have to go to several meetings to understand the foundation and the aim goal of this company and the software that they are currently selling which is Laserfiche.

What is Laserfiche?

Laserfiche(Enterprise Content Management) is a software made to help keep & organize company's document that needs a high level security, any kinds of files can be confidentally keep and well organized. This software was originally created by the Hongkongkian-American couples and originally from Long Beach, CA, United States of America. Laserfiche is a well known software in California being used by many companies.

What does it have to do with the United Nations?

The United Nations wanted to keep and organize their extremely confidential documents in a secure place and they chose to rely it on Laserfiche. It is very important to keep the UN staff's personal information confidential as they can be hunt down by criminals worldwide. Technically, they are one of our customers.

Why isnt there a picture of Kenny?

He came to every meetings we had but unfortunately, we forgot to take group photos after the meeting.

Investigation

The first time I decided to do this is because I wanted to make a credit for a highschool student who have done a proper business work. I want to expand my knowledge and I'm seeking for a new experience. This is the first job I've ever applied. I wanted to also help my dad and im interested in how my parents actually work behind the scenes and deal with their customers.

Preparation

On the first day, my dad started a group line and set up the first meeting for us as an introduction to the company. I also get to pass the high security check in the United Nation building as a trainee to investigate and learn how the DIS company sells Laserfiche to UN and how they work together. After me and Kenny understand the whole picture and what our job really is about, we have the next meeting where we actually have to start working.

Action

My dad in the meeting was demonstrating how the Sysaid application works as its being used to send error feedbacks from customers who used a Laserfiche product. My dad taught me and Kenny to use the application and also the WEB-EX which is kinda like a skype for business . When the error is send in Sysaid I tried to organize and sorts things out for the case to be send to the right person and got paid for it.

Reflection

I think this is a very useful experience to get to work in a real workplace and to know how it really feels like at a young age. I've gained the skill to be disciplined, responsible and it has improved my critical thinking skills.

Demonstration

When the case got sent to the right person I'll earn 200-300 baht and If I was able to help solve the case, I can earn extra money.
