Learning Goals

Visual Literacy:

• Learns to use line to make contour drawings of natural objects. Gains an

appreciation for expressive use of line.

• Acquires an understanding of size/shape relationship. Uses shape to create

simple and complex patterns.

• Learns to blend colors. Recognizes and uses variations of hue.

• Explores 3-dimensional space through the use of more complex strategies and a

wider variety of materials, such as clay slabs.

• Learns to use various viewpoints and perspectives, e.g. front, side, back. Gains an

understanding of the concept of overlapping.

Visual Expression:

• Approaches assignments with enthusiasm; uses art to express moods, emotions

and ideas.
