Available to Wellesley College students
By French Department Nomination Only
Bordeaux-Before-Aix is an intensive immersive three-week summer program in French language and culture in the historic city of Bordeaux, France. The program is designed for students wishing to accelerate their mastery of French with the goal of advancing their language level upon returning to Wellesley. Expect to speak French all day!
During 3 weeks in August, students earn 1 unit credit in the program in preparation for study in the Wellesley-in-Aix program. Students typically live with host families and attend 22 hours of class per week at Com'En France, a local language school which offers excursions, culinary workshops, and visits around Bordeaux. There is also free time to discover the city and the beautiful region of the French Atlantic coast on your own.
Application Deadline: April 1
Ask your French professor to nominate you for the program, and then you will receive the application form. The program best suits highly motivated students, eager to perfect their French in an intensive but fun setting. Bring your bathing suit and walking shoes!
