Due to excellent preparation, our bond issue on January 20th, 2021, exceeded all expectations. The bond raised over $300 million with orders from 23 unique investors. This significant demand generated a premium of more than $30 million for the District Project Fund which enabled the addition of second and third phases to lift all Weld RE-5J schools. The bond premium is the amount investors pay over the face value of the bonds and does not have to be paid back. In addition, the district's all-in interest rate was 2.32%, which is lower than expected. As a result, the district is paying back less than anticipated while receiving more than projected. Funds became available to the district in February of 2021.
