Students will be able to independently check in and out books so they can come to the library whenever they would like a new book. This will promote independence and problem-solving skills as well as a love for reading. Independent self check in and out will be scaffolded and taught to students in the first couple months of school. There will be set structures taught to students in order for this to be successful.
While students will have a scheduled weekly check in/out time with their class, students can come to the library whenever they would like another book to read!
Students can use our look up stations to find books they want to read about. They can search a title or search by genre.
