Students will be assessed orally/class and participation.
Students will be assessed by classwork.
Students will be assessed by an exit ticket, quiz or test at the end of each lesson.
The grades are based on total points, (oral quizzes, oral activities, class participation, class work, projects (when applicable) and homework (when applicable). Students will be able to accumulate points on every class visit.
Grades will be weighed as follows:
Tests, Projects 45%- Tests and projects are major assessments and assess student knowledge and skills at the end of a unit. Assessment types include written exams, speaking exams, and projects.
Quizzes 30%- Quizzes assess student knowledge of the vocabulary, grammar, and cultural information covered in class. Assessment types include writing, reading, listening and speaking.
Classwork 15%- Classwork grade includes completion of in-class assignments and participation in classroom activities. The students will be keeping a Virtual Spanish Interactive Notebook in which will be periodically checked for preparation in class, use of class time, organization, appearance, and completeness.
Homework 10%- Homework assignments are graded as complete or incomplete.
PROJECTS/HOMEWORK(when applicable)
Homework is an extremely important part of learning, because it reinforces what we talked about in class. Homework will be assigned occasionally, and it is always due on the following class meeting.
Homework will be assigned a point value, if completed according to the directions, legibly and turned in on time; the students will receive the full points. If your child is absent on the day an assignment is due, he/she is responsible for turning it in on the day that they return to school. Homework that is not turned in when your child returns to school will be considered late. Any forgotten/late homework will be marked "missing" and will be given a zero (0).
Ms. Luna will take attendance at the beginning of every class. During this time, students should be sitting and focused on their “warm up” work.
Parents should feel free to contact me by email (nluna@weehawken.k12.nj.us) or by school phone, with any questions or concerns about their child’s progress.
