What makes Web Summit Qatar different in terms of networking opportunities? 

Web Summit Qatar is all about meaningful connections and building meaningful communities. We run the world’s largest technology events, connecting people and ideas that change the world. I want to connect with fellow speakers and attendees at Web Summit Qatar. What’s the best way to do this?

The Web Summit Qatar app lets you connect with attendees, set up meetings and discover a selection of curated and intimate community gatherings called ‘Meetups’. 

How do I schedule meetings on the app? 

There are two ways to set up a meeting with an attendee on the app: 

Option 1

• Tap the ‘Discovery’ tab at the bottom right of your app screen. 

• Tap the search bar. Select the ‘People’ tab and scroll through our attendee list. Filter people by attendee type, industry and location using the ‘Filters’ button, or search for an attendee you want to meet by using the search bar at the top of the screen.

• On the attendee’s profile, scroll down to the Meetings section, tap ‘Request a meeting’, and fill out the relevant information. 

• The attendee will receive a notification and, if they accept the request, the meeting will be added to both of your personal event schedules.

Option 2

• Tap the ‘Schedule’ tab at the bottom of your app screen. 

• Select ‘My schedule’. 

• Tap the ‘Create meeting’ button, input all of the meeting details and add participants.

• The attendee will receive a notification and, if they accept the request, the meeting will be added to both of your personal event schedules.

You can export any connections you made in your Web Summit Qatar app. In the mobile app, head to the "Connections" tab. Click "Accepted connections" and up in the top right hand corner you will see a "download" icon. Click this icon and A CSV file of your confirmed connections will be sent to the email address associated with your ticket.

Please note: only confirmed connections will be included in the export, pending connections will not be exported.

Where do meetings take place?

If you are meeting with another speaker, you can arrange to meet in our Speaker Lounge or in one of our speaker meeting rooms at the event, which are available on a first come first served basis. 

What are ‘Meetups’? 

Meetups are a chance to meet new people and make new connections in informal settings throughout Web Summit Qatar, day and night. We’ll make sure you’re invited to some we think you’ll enjoy.

You will find the meetups you are invited to inside your app profile. We will invite you to meetups we think you will enjoy-this is based on where you are from, your interests, your industry, and your community that you highlighted.

You will find the complete list of meetings on the app's main page closer to the event. If there are any meetups you are not invited to but wish to attend, feel free to show up; if there is capacity, you can join!
