The scientific method is simply a thought process that people use to work through a problem and learn something new.
This process is broken down into a few steps:
1. State the problem
2. Form a hypothesis
3. Design experiment
4. Collect Data
5. Make a conclusion
6. Evaluate yourself
When designing an experiment, you need to make sure you follow a few rules, otherwise your conclusions won’t be valid, and no one will trust your results.
Rule #1: you need to have a control group
Rule #2: YOU can only manipulate one variable
Rule #3: you need to perform the experiment MANY TIMES and obtain the same results
Rule #4: make sure that any difference in data is SIGNIFICANT
