Photosynthesis
Energy for all life comes from solar radiation. In autotrophic organisms, organelles called chloroplasts capture solar energy and convert it into stored potential energy in organic compounds (glucose). The energy is used to rearrange the molecules of CO2 and H2O from the environment into molecules of C6H12O6 and O2.
Plants can convert sunlight energy into stored chemical energy in food molecules.
