Bird Weather PUC

Bird Weather is a device that has microphones in it and records 9 second clips of bird sounds. Those recordings get identified.

You don't have to buy a unit to use the app. Download the app -  BirdWeather on Google Play or  BirdWeather at the Apple Store. Then instead of adding a PUC device you click into the map and search for a device by number or zooming into different locations. Once you find one that you want to use, Follow it and then you can see the birds that have been detected. Click on a bird to see more information and then there is a drop down menu for more information.

The unit that I have is PUC# 25917. The screenshot shows that after 2 hours of being installed, 218 detections had been heard and 17 different species had been identified.  There are also other apps that you can use to help with bird identification.  Merlin  by Cornell Lab  is one.
