Women Embracing Abilities Now Charlotte is an organization that provides one on one mentoring among women with new disabilities by connecting them with women with existing disabilities to help them through the adjustment phases of living with their disability. We also offer a monthly support group, community activities and healthcare advocacy.

W.E.A.N. provides services to women with “disABILITIES” through carefully crafted implementation, evaluation, and promotion of health and wellness strategies based on proven “best practices” within the field.  Our peer mentors are exceptional women who use their testimonies and a variety of strategies to address critical health behaviors and wellness concerns affecting women with disabilities.  Our peer mentors have successfully learned to live with their disabilities and they are role models providing true inspiration for those who thought all was lost in their lives.  This program is open to any woman with any disability, sixteen years of age or older.

W.E.A.N. Program Goals:

1.  To identify women with new disabilities who have specific needs for support, and personal development.

2.  To provide makeovers to build self esteem to women with disabilities who are going back to work, pursing higher education or reintegrating into the community.

3.  To provide women with new disabilities opportunities to experience self-enhancement and expose them to empowering skills

4.  To mentor women with new disabilities throughout their adjustment periods and serve as a support system for women with new and existing disabilities.

5. Advocate for equal access to women’s health services and fitness and offer opportunities for women with disabilities receive health and wellness testing, education, and fitness program opportunities

Our work is never completed as long as there are women with disABILITIES in need!
