This film about Monique was debuted at the 2019 Evening at the Angus Barn: A Wheel Life fundraiser. This year the NCSCIA raised funds to host a conference for women with disabilities in 2020 which has been a dream of Monique and NCSCIA's Chairman Debbie Myers for quite some time. Now they have teamed up to empower women and young girls across the state of North Carolina. A special thanks to our phenomenal videographer Katie Stover and NCSCIA for capturing her story so beautifully.

Highlights from our annual Chicks in Chairs fundraiser! WEAN is an organization whose mission is to end the cycle of poverty and isolation of girls and women with disabilities. WEAN offers one on one peer mentoring, quarterly group coffee & conversation, community outings and health wellness advocacy. WEAN has collaborated with Southern Women’s Show and three local designers (are located at the bottom) they will help to create the Wheel Pretty Collection an adaptive clothing line that will be featured at the Southern Women’s Show this year. This collection was designed to empower women who CAN’T STAND UP TO STAND OUT! We are paying homage to Frida Kahlo who said, “Feet what do I need you for when I have wings to fly.” 10% of purchased proceeds will benefit the WEAN WINGS SCHOLARSHIP to help a young girl or woman with a disability to reach their goals and fly.
