My idea for this shoot is a still life shoot of the motif/ main idea around ballet, which is the pointe shoes.
I really enjoyed this shoot. I had covid and was isolating at home so I managed to sort something out and get the equipment of the white backdrop and a camera from a friend. I borrowed the pointe shoes from a dance friend to use for this shoot. It was very fun to shoot with the pointe shoes and I was able to get creative with all the angles. The lightning just wasn't working and my images were coming out dull and dark. Next time I will try to get better lighting as it wasn't the best.
My idea for this shoot is to capture the use of makeup in dance.
I will try to take the idea of the objects placed in this image and do this but with the use of makeup.
Unfortunately shoot 2 wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I had planned to shoot in the studio at school but Jess and I could not get the lighting in the room to work. Instead we had to use natural lighting. Due to us trying to sort out the lighting we didn't have much time left in the period and I didn't get enough time to photograph much. Some of the photos on my contact sheet aren't good at all but I managed to take a handful and edit (my first time editing) them in lightroom and the three photos above are my favourite.
This is my first shoot with my model and I would like to photograph her using the technique of portraiture. I will try and explore shooting her in various positions.
I would like to aim to get a similar photo like this with my model. This image draws to me as it shows that simplicity can be so effective.
I really enjoyed shoot 3. I find that I can be more creative when shooting a person as opposed to still life. For this portraiture shoot I had a range of ideas on what poses I wanted my model to do and some turned out really nicely. From my shoot I was able to get around 20 images which I loved. I set up the white backdrop in my garage to let in the natural light from outside and it worked really nicely. One problem I had was having some blurry/shaken photos. I needed to set the iso to a higher number which would of made the shutter speed higher and faster. And this is what I will work on for next time!

For this shoot I would like to further develop/reshoot my idea from shoot 2 but get more creative in the use of angles and the placing of the makeup.
I want to continue using this photograph by Andre Kertez but become more creative in my use of placement and arrangement. But I will not be using the black and white element that Andre Kertez has as that does not fit my folio theme well.
For shoot 4 I wanted to improve the idea of my shoot 2. For shoot 4 I had a stronger idea on what I wanted to photograph and the idea I wanted to get across. I also worked on getting the lightning better and then edited the images above to improve the lighting and colours in the image. I think shoot 4 worked well and was definitely and improvement from shoot 2. I also was able to have some images that I really loved from the shoot.
