The shoot went alright? I was a bit pressed for time as I underestimated how long the shoot would take and needed to get home to go to work - so I would have liked to have had more photos but ran out of time. It was a bit difficult re learning how to use the different settings, which resulted in A LOT of repeated images (me trying to get the exposure right). I probably should have given up on that and gone auto, but it's too late now.
I am pretty happy with the images I got (apart from the brightness/focus of some of them). Next time I would allocate myself more time and maybe do half the shoot on auto to save time and effort.

The shoot was okay - got some very cool close ups of different plants and really started to get the hang of adjusting all the settings and relearning how to use the camera. Using my model probably would have advanced the shoot a bit more but I was a bit pressed for time to complete the shoot & she was busy :(. Next time I probably would have found a few more artist models to progress my work a bit more & get my model in to do some portraiture.

Still life in the style of André Kertész

Shadows
Still life genre
Purposeful arrangements
For my still life, I wanted to use the skull and photograph it with scientific books on plants and with flowers to link the human part of my theme to the nature part.

I think it went quite well! A bit hard creating the shadows at the same time as holding the camera but I'm sure there's a work around that somehow...
Photos were well lit this time which was good, and some of the arrangements looked pretty cool (some not so much...). I think I should have brought in a few more items in to help me generate more ideas and have more of a range of photos. (So next time - more ideas before hand, more items brought in.)
THEME HAS NOW CHANGED TO QUEER & HUMAN
Shoot 4 30/05/24 43 Images
Still life in the style of Jerry Takigawa
I want to use the image of the skeleton as my background as a reference to a quote I want to resonate on my board - "at our bones we are all human". As well as this, I have an image of the medical journals on anatomy and refracting light to create rainbows as a back up background.
I am going to put objects such as the rainbow flag, rainbow earrings, a badge, hopefully chrysanthemums and the pink triangle on top as all are reasonably well known symbols of the LGBTQ+ community.

The shoot went very well, I really enjoyed this one! I feel it's really helped to actually bring in what my theme is, and it is also a pretty good still life option if I need it in my board. They are relatively all from the same angle and are the same size though so maybe I could have gotten a few different angles in there and maybe added some more interesting lighting.
