Current Practices and Artifacts:
Assists in updating the policies and procedures that involve the library and technology
Organized and disseminates Digital Citizenship Curriculum
Strands that are specific to data & privacy: responsible & ethical use of technology, importance of secure passwords, navigating safely online, and keeping personal information private
Collaborates with IT department to discuss district data, privacy, and security
Opportunities for Growth:
Share more resources and information regarding student privacy with staff, students and the community to better educate on the subject and increase understanding of the risk. These resources may include:
a list of students whose pictures cannot be published online
resources outlining specific laws and procedures to safeguard students and their data
Continue to educate ourselves further on the many laws surrounding student data and privacy issues
Research and curate a list of resources that adhere to the student data and privacy laws and so could be used in our school without concern from teachers and families
