Students are required to attend one scheduled lesson per 6-day cycle. Because of Mrs. Manzano’s daily schedules that change and band lessons the following days and times have been assigned for each voice part. Please note that students in both Band and Choir will be required and able to attend both sets of lessons per 6-day cycle. Mrs. Graff and Mrs. Manzano made sure there were no conflicts. Sopranos and Altos will SING then EAT during their lesson day, while Baritones will EAT then SING.
CHOIR Lessons take place in Mrs. Manzano’s room (15A) or the LGI.
B4 - Sopranos (7th and 8th Grade)
B5 - Altos/Baritones (7th and 8th Grade)
B6 - Make ups (only scheduled with Mrs. Manzano! See above)
***Make up lessons are only available to students that were absent during lesson days. Students CHOOSING not to attend lessons will get a zero for that lesson grade. See below for students assigned to see a teacher or scheduled for discipline during lesson time.
Sopranos and Altos on the A Team MUST eat lunch in Mrs. Manzano’s room following their lessons. (You can bring lunch OR go to the lunch room during the switch, then return). B Team Sopranos and Altos may choose to stay in Mrs. Manzano’s room and eat with their friends OR go to their normal lunch.
Baritones on the A Team may eat in Mrs. Manzano’s room OR go to their normal lunch. B Team Baritones MUST eat in Mrs. Manzano’s room during first lunch. No one will be excused to recess or allowed to attend a different lunch period. Failure to comply with these lesson rules will result in a ZERO for the lesson grade and a write up for cutting class as per our WDMS Administration.
Detention or Teacher Lunch/Recess - students who receive a lunch detention scheduled for their lesson day must let Mrs. Manzano know so she can try to adjust when the lunch detention is served as not to conflict with lessons. Additionally, if another teacher is asking you to come in on a lesson day, students must speak with Mrs. Manzano to see if the other teacher is flexible on the days the student can come in. Think of lessons as a TEST/QUIZ for choir and remember they are not optional.
All lessons are MANDATORY and included in each marking period grade. Concert are also mandatory and Concert Mastery is included in your 2nd and 4th MP grades.
