Hands Off Education!
On March 4th, some faculty, students, and local teachers took part in a movement that looked at important topics related to education, including talks about expanding the Department of Education. Our President (Gabrielle Liberto) attended one of these "Teach-ins" talking about the background of this topic as well as how getting rid of the Department of Education would affect IDEA and special education as a whole. There were also talks about how it would affect education in general and funding for specific needs and services. One of the "Teach-ins" was hosted by our chapter advisor Dr. Dana Morrison. More "Teach-ins" consisted of Donuts, DEI, & the DOE, A rally, A Bad IDEA: Cutting the DOE and Disability, Cuts to College / Hands Off Pell Grants.
