What are the values and philosophy of the school that aligns with our school mission here at Hollywood Arts?
Here at Hollywood Arts, we are committed to maintaining a school community centered around our morals:
inclusion
equality &
self-expression.
Considering these morals, our school is built on the foundation of art-integration. Arts integration is as an approach to teaching where students construct and demonstrate understanding through art forms. It combines traditional curriculum with art media. Students are given opportunities on a daily basis to engage in a creative processes that connect an art form with another subject area and meets satisfactory objectives in both. We offer students a safe space for them to express their creativity and provide them with endless opportunities to do so.
Our faculty, staff and administration are dedicated to the success of our students. Through regular attendance in professional development conferences, our staff expand their horizons of knowledgeable experience with new innovative practices to integrate into their arts integrated classrooms. Each educator here at Hollywood Arts is an advocate for their students. They recognize each child's individual areas of need and ensure accommodating resources as needed.
The wide availability of art resources we are able to provide our students with is in alignment with the values of organizations that advocate for arts integration.

Advocacy Topic
Our main advocacy topic here at Hollywood Arts is inclusion.
Inclusion is directly accomplished through each of the following areas within our school community:
Curriculum
Every child plays an important role in not only the classroom but within our school community as a whole. Participation in classroom activities that engage each student is a constant.
Extra curricular activities
Providing our students with over 85 clubs and organizations in addition to 15 competitive sports teams, there is truly something for every student to become involved in outside of educational necessities. Consistent encouragement from our faculty to our students maintains inclusion as we encourage students to try at least one new club each year. We want our students to succeed and find practices they enjoy to participating and contributing in.
Mentoring/guidance for student
The faculty, staff, and administration at Hollywood Arts are always considering the individual success of each student. Support services are available for outreach by students, parents, and/or caregivers of our kindergarten through fifth graders.
Instructional practices
Students physical, cognitive, social, emotional, and moral well-beings are taken into consideration with each lesson and activity. Lessons are adapted to each of these areas. Our teachers involve each student within the classroom through recognizing their individual needs and areas of flourish ability in order to ensure this inclusion within instructional practices.
School management
In conjunction with arts integration, Hollywood Arts includes service-learning oriented projects that are geared towards students of all knowledge and ability levels. Considering this, service-learning projects are adapted to the standards of the National Core Art Standards.
School routines and procedures
Each student enrolled in Hollywood Arts plays a special role within our school community. Daily classroom routines are implemented each day to ensure our school is a well maintained environment that facilitates growth and learning each day. Students are held to high standards in this regard.
Our school environment is not arts integrated, instructional, space sufficient, but also inclusionary in alignment with our mission statement, philosophy, and area of advocacy.

Just like the Pennsylvania Art Education Association, our school strives to integrate arts into the classroom. Students are given the opportunity to connect the arts to their academic subjects. For example, they are given the chance to explore art in history class by analyzing the impact different time periods had on the style and genre of various art pieces.
The NCCAS believes that "The arts have always served as the distinctive vehicle for discovering who we are". This correlates to exactly what our school is all about. Incorporating the arts into academics, gives children a way to create a personal connection to what they are learning. By doing so, students are more engaged in their learning and are given an outlet to grow intellectually as well as creatively.
