Our classrooms are all strategically set up for optimal student and educator usage.
Safety:
Fire alarms: at least one in every room of the building.
Fire safety routes: posted on the walls of classrooms for emergency directions.
Classroom windows: have roll down curtains for intruder privacy drills.
Locking doors and windows: prevents for unwanted entry.
Large classroom spacing: for easy and effortless navigating, especially in the case of an emergency.
Organization:
Student iPad organization: charging station and lock.
Student resource table: this table normally has extra pencils, student materials like scissors, and tissues for the students to have constant access to.
Bookcases: commonly used for library areas or storage purposes.
Community tables: students are seated in groups of 4-5 students to collaboratively work while in the classroom.
Group table: used for small group and individualized learning time with teacher.
Student cubbies: every student has an assigned cubby to keep their personal belongings during the school-day.
Educator desk: for the teacher to keep and organize important materials for teaching.
Student Learning:
In every classroom you fill find some form of seating arrangement infront of the interactive whiteboards. (carpet, foam spots, dots, pillow seats, etc). This is a common place for teachers to give instruction since students are away from distractions found at their desks.
Classroom Library: Each classroom has a library for students to access. The library is a comforatble space that is placed away from main distractions. Books are not only good for developing reading reading skills, but they show cultures, morals, immagination, and non-fiction facts to build on deeper academic learning.
Dynamic play area: allows students to use their imagination to engage in dynamic play.
