Class Activity on September 7th where we made predictions for the macroinvertebrate puzzle and asked questions we needed answers to.

Questions we need answered to in order to more accurately predict the macroinvertebrate puzzle:

William and Iris:

What animals are found in ponds?
What animals are found in streams?
- all animals from Stream food web posters (fish, macroinvertebrates, crayfish etc.)
Do we see more species in still water or running water?

Abbie:

What are typical species found in ponds and streams?
What is the number of species found in ponds and streams?
What are the differences between these two ecosystems; ponds and streams?
- prediction: streams have fewer fish than ponds.

Jenna and Rachel:

What do the organisms in the stream eat?
What different needs do organisms in the stream have than organisms in the pond?
What organisms are around them that can affect them?

Colby and Ally:

Does the depth of the water affect the species that live in it?
How does the environment around the water affect the species?
What types of environment in the water enables the creatures to live there; rocky, seaweed, etc?
Prediction: streams are cleaner (better water quality) than ponds because streams are running
