Karen and Ashley created dialogue between the Sirens and Odysseus for a creative writing assignment about The Odyssey.
The Sirens
Karen: I see a ship with many men heading this way.
Ashley: We have to sing so that we hypnotize them and draw them to us and then make them our slaves.
Karen: But we already have a lot of men that we have fooled with our beauty and our songs.
Ashley: I can't do anything to stop you from passing our island, mermaids, it's time we sing for all these men to come to us.
Odysseus: crew we are coming to the islands of the sirens and I want you to cover your ears, I also want you to tie the mast and ignore everything I can say while I am under the influence of the song of the sirens, I will want to go towards them but for no reason let me go.
Ashley: because the crew are not coming towards us.
Karen: Maybe our magic isn't working on them.
Ashley: Sing louder so you can hear us.
Karen: They seem to have something strange in their ears and that's why they can't hear us. I see someone in which he is tied to the mast of the ship and apparently it is Odysseus.
Ashley: Then we go to them.
Karen: We can't do that because they have to come to us and not us to them.
Ashley: Then let's let them go.
