September 2023

Dear Parent,

I hope that this letter finds you and your family healthy and safe.  These days are ever changing and can be quite anxiety provoking. I want you to know that I am here for you & your child. I welcome you to explore my school website.  The tabs to your left have many links related to counseling and other resources. These include videos and activities that focus on social emotional functioning (i.e., anxiety, mindfulness, meditation, etc.).

All children benefit from stress reduction and relaxation. Engaging in stress reduction and relaxation activities help students achieve their school-based goals no matter what social-emotional hurdle is in their way. I look forward to working together on these goals.

For students who receive ongoing counseling services through their IEP I will be setting up counseling appointments with your child to provide services.  If your child does not receive services currently but you have concerns please feel free to reach out to me via email and I will respond as soon as possible.  My email is marybeth.boylan@wcsdny.org

If you have significant and immediate concerns about your child, please know that there are many county resources that continue to be available, such as the Dutchess County Helpline (call or text). This helpline is available 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.  Their number is 845-485-9700 or in an emergency call 911.  There is also a New York State emotional support hotline, set up specifically to discuss anxiety around Covid-19.  Please feel free to call them with any questions/concerns or just to talk. https://omh.ny.gov/omhweb/covid-19-resources.html

Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. Wishing you my best!

Respectfully Yours,

MaryBeth Boylan, LCSW
