In order to complete the FAFSA, both student and guardians must create a FSAID. You must each complete them using different email addresses.

FAFSA

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid. This application opens up on October 1st of the student's 12th grade year. Every student should plan on completing this form. It not only allows students to apply for federal aid, but colleges and universities also use it to determine institution based scholarships and aid.

HESC-TAP

State aid is granted by filling out the TAP or Tuition Assistance Program application. Most people will be prompted to complete this while filling out the FAFSA, in case that doesn't work, below is a link with information.
