Course: World Studies II
Description: Spring Semester
Upon completion of this semester-long course, students will be able to understand major world movements that continue to impact us today, beginning with the Age of Absolutism in Europe to the present day. Units of study include the rise of absolute monarchies, the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment, the French Revolution and Napoleon, world revolutions, the Industrial Revolution, imperialism, WWI, WWII, the Cold War, and the present day. There will be an emphasis on the development of life skills such as reliable research, public speaking, critical thinking, source usage, and collaboration.
