Course: World Studies I
Description: Fall Semester
Upon completion of this semester-long course, the student will understand the world from its beginnings to the fall of the Roman Empire through the Renaissance and Reformation. Units of study include prehistoric man and the rise of civilization, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, the Middle Ages, the Crusades, the Age of Exploration, the Renaissance, and the Reformation. There will be an emphasis on the development of historical academic skills such as utilizing reliable research, public speaking, usage of primary and secondary sources, and critical thinking.
