Course: Ag Equipment Maintenance
Description: Spring Semester
Ag Power Technology and Ag Equipment Maintenance are courses designed with yearlong enrollment in mind but may be split into individual semesters. Ag Equipment Maintenance takes a deeper look into Ag Power. Students will go through power systems such as drivetrains, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, Power Take Off systems, Roll-Over-Protection systems. Students will be introduced to small engines both 2-cycle and 4 cycle engines as well as diesel engines. Students will be introduced to the world of Precision Agriculture and understand the equipment and technology used in Precision Agriculture. Students will also go through introductory training of how to diagnose equipment breakdown and issues and how to troubleshoot those issues. Students will participate in labs to complete basic power equipment maintenance such as checking fluids, electrical charge, changing and checking tires.
Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 Elective Credit
Prerequisite: Intro to Ag I and II and Ag Power Technology
