Indicator Proofs of Learning (Formerly Indicator Assessments (IA))
Indicator Assessments are the assessments given to students who are following the Occupational Course of Study and Extended Course of Study. In order for students to be given an Indicator Assessment, there must be a modified blueprint in place that began early in the semester.
The Indicator Assessment is created by the teacher of record.
This assessment can be created in a variety of formats: multiple choice, fill in the blanks, matching, performance.
The objective of the test questions MUST be noted, preferably on test AND answer key.
Provide three copies of Indicator Assessment: blank copy, answer key copy and the student answered copy. All of these will go to the SPC once testing is completed.
Indicator Assessment MUST be individualized. It must match the modified blueprint.
Do not use any verbiage on the student copy that indicates this test is different from any other student’s test. Do NOT write OCS/ECS on the test. Use only the term Indicator Assessment and/or the student’s name.
Number of test questions on each objective should closely reflect the course weight of the objectives.
Use at least three answer choices, NOT TWO for multiple choice. Number/Letter the answer choices sequentially. For example, if you delete the answer choice “B”; ensure that the choices still read A, B, C not A, C, D. This is confusing to some students.
You will also need to indicate the student’s grade on their test. If it is curved for any reason, please indicate that on the test and give reasoning.
