Washington GT Magnet Elementary is a National Historic Site and sits on 24 acres of land near downtown Raleigh, NC.

Our hall of history is an important reminder of our school history to our community.

The world is waiting for you and your talents, YOU are a gift to be shared. Displays from our Artist in Residence program show off the many gifts and talents of our students.

Washington has several outdoor recess zones. We have a fossil pit, two playground structures, outdoor basketball court, and a full size track with soccer goals.

Washington's Media Center was renovated in 2018 with a $50,000 grant that included new paint, furnishings and technology. The art installation on the back wall of the Media Center was created by fifth grade students during our Artist in Residence Program.

Washington is fortunate to have a variety of different learning spaces. We have a full size gymnasium with hardwood floors and a rock climbing wall. During the 2021-22 school year our gym will undergo a 4 million dollar renovation. Students also have access to state of the art dance room, drama room and art studio complete with a kiln.

The math and science courtyard was built in 2001 and contains several outdoor learning spaces. Parents also use the space to eat lunch with child on school days.
